I have never left a review before, but I just wanted to share my experience having read this book. My interest in ‘sugar free’ started after buying a Nutribullet and after a month of drinking and eating LOADS of fruit my partner and I put on half a stone!! We mentioned this to my nephew who is a real health nut and he said ‘too much sugar’ WOW what a revelation, so I went on my quest to find out more. tried a few books that I felt over complicated the whole subject then I found this book and it all made sense! This got us onto a new track – we stopped drinking alcohol on Jan 5th for ‘go dry’ month (which was really tough) but then carried on using the recipes and ideas from this book. We simply had 3 meals a day. A good protein breakfast (egg bacon etc.) home made vegetable soup with a sandwich lunchtime and a meal at night but avoiding carbohydrates – oh and not eating after 6pm. I do go to bed feeling a little hungry and wake up ready for breakfast. I power walk 30 minutes everyday and bingo the weight has dropped off. since Jan I’ve gone down from 11 stone 5 and today (drum roll please) I weighed in at 9 stone 13 – Very happy indeed – Thanks

I’ve been dabbling with being sugar free on and off for years. I feel so much better when I’m off it but I give up when I get bored by the lack of flavor and variety. Anyway this has loads of recipes and I can’t wait to get cracking. There are some really good tips too which I hadn’t thought of before.

This was easy to understand, no in-depth medical jargon, just sensible explanations of how sugar affects us. The recipes are for normal people, no chef qualifications needed. All the ingredients are easy to purchase and are not so obscure that they need to be googled to find out what they look like. Both British and American names of the foods were given to avoid any confusion 🙂

Everything I wanted and more. Information easy to read and understand. Feels logical. Recipes a bonus but I really did not require them. Have lost 9.5kgs in 12 weeks. Does require effort but what does not. It is not a reducing diet but a change in the way you eat. Also I was in the type2 diabetic range going to require medication. But have reduced my blood sugars to within normal range. Found the information about fruit sugars amazing.

Giving up sugar has been easier then I thought.

I found this to be a great book. It is well written and I was very surprised about the amount of sugar in some of my everyday food items. I didn’t consider myself a sugar addict although I did enjoy the odd slice of pavlova. After reading this book I’m very motivated. I’ve been using some of the recipes and found that I’ve lost a few pounds over the past couple of weeks. The sugar cravings aren’t as bad as I thought they’d be. For 100 recipes it’s good value for money.

Just what I needed- been reading a lot about sugar lately and decided that quitting it, or at the very least cutting out all the added extra and hidden sugar – is the last step in my healthy eating plan. This book is really informative, told me all I needed to know about what to look out for on labels and how best to start eliminating sugars….but best of all the recipes are great. Loads of options, and stuff that doesn’t even seem like a sacrifice and is delicious ….so I now have loads of meal ideas and even snacks too. Glad I bought this, am on day 4 and it’s been a lot easier than I thought!

I’m converted – easy and sustainable!

I’ve been hearing a lot about going sugar free but I’m not into dieting. I was really after something to help me change my lifestyle. After reading this book I decided to give it a go and I’m glad I did. I’m more conscious about what I’m eating and have stopped eating sugar for the most part. I still have a little way to go, but feeling better already. The first few days were tricky but it has been a lot easier than I thought would be. Very pleased with my purchase. I’ll be keeping it up.

I read a lot of diet books looking for the answer to staying healthy, losing weight whilst not changing my lifestyle completely. This book is great with good tips for cutting sugar from your diet and suggesting replacements. The recipes are `normal` too, and I can make meals the whole family will eat. This one is definitely a keeper.
